whipstitch \'wip-stich\ n - An indeterminate unit of linear or temporal measure. When used in the typical expression "every whipstitch," the term implies ubiquity, pervasiveness, or frequency; "Woodstock's got a restaurant every whipstitch." The implications of whipstitch in this sense are quite obviously derived from the term's literal meaning, i.e., a simple, rapid stitch pattern often used in quilting and leatherwork.
