jumpins \'jum-penz\ interj - Also: holy jumpins; An exclamation of surprise, fascination, or frustration; "Oh, jumpins! You scared the heck outta me!" Occasionally "jumpins" is used as a sentence all on its own. Origin unknown, although usage and etymology suggests a link to the pejorative usage of "Jesus" and similar sounding words, or perhaps an alternate form of "liftin'". Usage appears to be limited to western and central Carleton County. See also: Geehover, holy-liftin', holy revs, jeepers, jeez, jeezum-crow.
