3. If at all possible, demonstrate that you used the word somewhere other than Carleton County, and that this resulted in blank stares, double-takes, or outright abuse from others. Such words are perfect.

4. If it makes us laugh, you're in like Flynn (see rule no. 1). A really clever example of the term's usage can help with this, especially if you send us an audio clip to go with it.

5. The Editors are 'Countyers too (one a resident and the other an ex-pat), so it really helps if we've heard the word before. This is not entirely necessary, but we're being up-front here and telling you that it sure does help (see rule no. 1).
